ABOUT OUR PRACTITIONER, RUTH GOBOURNE

 

My name is Ruth Gobourne and I am an autonomous Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. I started my nursing career as a RN in my birth country Jamaica where I specialized in Medical-Surgical nursing, Pediatric nursing and Preventative cancer screenings with the Jamaica cancer society.

After practicing nursing for six (6) years, I migrated to the United States in 2000 where after receiving my FloridaLicense, I continued to hone and develop my skills in the nursing profession. I spent the first two (2) years as a RN working in a nursing home, following which I was employed by the former Lakeland Regional Medical Center - now renamed Lakeland Regional Health. I spent fourteen (14) years working as an Oncology Nurse while working on my BSN at Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida.

In 2017, I received my Master of Science degree in Nursing from Florida Southern College and I have been working in a Primary Care private office as a Nursing Practitioner (NP) fro the last five (5) years.
